The Walsh family has lived in St. Louis their entire life. Dad, Kevin (sometimes known as  "Wally") works for a company installing/repairing lifts and other modified equipment on vehicles.  This service provides people with physical disabilities the opportunity to drive and/or have a better means of transportation.  Mom, Maggie, works full time working for a company in their Accounts Payable department.  Danny has been a student in the Special School District for 17 years.  Kenny is a freshman in the Parkway School District.  They have an 11-year old dog, Pancake, who is a chow/lab mix.

The Walsh's love to camp and spend a lot of time at their camping lot located about 90 miles south of St. Louis.  They have attended Grace Church in Maryland Heights for over 9 years.  They enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Danny loves basketball and has even received awards for his shooting skills.  He bowls on the Sunshine League every Sunday afternoon.  He loves watching videos and playing games with his mom and brother.

Kenny loves baseball and football.  He is a member of the Tai Kwan Do club at his high school.  He loves hunting, playing video games, watching movies, models, puzzles and Spiderman.

The addition of a service dog will help the Walsh family and caregivers in providing a more safe and independent environment for Danny.  The Walsh's will in turn  gain more social opportunities, flexibility, and peace of mind.

The Walsh's have lived in a world of locks and keys since Danny was very young.  Just the dream of taking Danny on a walk or leaving the front door unlocked while doing yardwork is such an exciting thought.  The dog can also help when Danny has difficulty transitioning,  such as coming from the car to the house (which has sometimes taken close to an hour to accomplish).  Kevin, Maggie, and Kenny are all very excited about having someone else around every day to lend a helping paw!
