January, 2009 ~ Well, the time is growing near.  In about 6 weeks we will go to meet our new helper and friend.  We are both excited and nervous. Thanks to Aunt Madonna, Danny now has his tethering belt and is ready to go bumming!  The January class begins next week.  They have 3 dogs being placed in New Zealand!  How awesome is that!  Kenny is really enjoying the explorer program at South County Tech.  He sure is growing up fast!  Danny's last year of school is going well.  It will be sad to see him leave the  school system, but we pray new doors will open for him soon.  Our new blessing should make the transition much easier. We'll keep you posted!

November, 2009 ~ Waiting, waiting, waiting.  Such anticipation in waiting for our new family member to arrive. But with school in full swing, deer season, and the holidays fast approaching, March will be here before we know it! Danny has had some difficulty with seizures these past several months, so we are praying even harder that his furry friend is working hard in training so he/she can help keep Danny safe and hopefully avoid injury from the dreadful falls that sometimes happen when he seizes. I keep thinking about getting Danny out more and all the opportunities that await us.  I often wonder if Danny's dog will like basketball! We have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.  We are thankful for all of the support of so many people that has brought us to this point. We are blessed to have so many people who care about not only our precious Danny, but all of the other people out there who need their help and support. Thank-you Lord for bringing so many wonderful people into our lives.

August, 2009 ~ Great news!  In March, 2010 Danny will receive his multi-purpose service dog, trained for autism and seizure support.  Dad, mom, and Kenny will learn all the aspects of handling a service dog including commands, grooming, and certification to handle the dog in public places. In the meantime Danny will begin the process of bonding with his new friend and being tethered. As soon as Danny's dog contacts us, we will share with everyone who and what kind of he/she will be joining our family.   This link sums it all up:

Thank-you for visiting our website!  As many people already know, Danny has been accepted to receive an autism service dog through 4 Paws for Ability, a 501c(3) non-profit organization. After further discussion with 4 Paws, Danny's dog will also be trained for seizure scent/alert.

There is not a day that goes by that a service dog would not enrich our lives.  A service dog will give our family more freedom, while providing Danny with added independence.

Danny's family and friends are on a mission to raise the funds needed to acquire such a dog. For each dollar donated to 4 Paws on behalf of Danny, 1 point is put towards Danny's goal of 14,000 points. We hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation to 4 Paws, or consider supporting one of our fundraisers. We are humbled by all of the generosity of friends, family, and people whom we have never even met. We have already seen so many blessings on this journey.

Please browse our website to learn more about 4 Paws and the great things they are doing for so many people.  Check here often; we will continually make updates on the progress of Danny’s dog.  Someday we will bring one of these furry angels home with us.
